Caldwell Sets State Of City Address

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell plans to give his fourth State of the City address on Monday at Mission Memorial Auditorium by Honolulu Hale.
The public is welcome to attend the ceremony which begins at 6:15 p.m. The mayor’s speech is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

鈥淲e are going to focus on buying more buildings, to house more folks, but we are not stopping the enforcement side,鈥 he said, referring to controversial city ordinances prohibiting people from sitting or lying on sidewalks.
He also intends to spend over $500 million to upgrade the city’s sewer system, which is under an EPA-imposed consent decree.
