Who’s Raising Cash During Session?
Hawaii state Reps.聽Evans, Mizuno and Morikawa, that’s who. And it’s聽not illegal.
If by chance you step into Cafe Julia at 1040 Richards Street Tuesday at cocktail hour, you’ll find three state representatives asking for campaign donations of $100 each.
They are Rep. of Oahu, Rep. of the Big Island and Rep. of Kauai.
Wednesday is the day before the fifth day of the 2016 Hawaii Legislature,聽the cutoff deadline for the introduction of bills.
Bills attract supporters and opponents.
Many聽of those supporters and opponents (many of them registered聽lobbyists) contribute money to legislators.
Some say the money is not intended to influence the passage of legislation.
But no one really believes聽that.
