The Place to Be in Hawaii Kai Most members of the audience opposed NOAA's efforts to work with the state to add a new layer of protection to the degraded bay, which is part of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. They said the move would jeopardize their commercial and residential use of the bay.
Here's the Plan Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell unveils plans to improve Ala Moana Beach Park on Wednesday. The work would include new bathrooms and food concessions.
