Tulsi Gabbard Looks to Be Running for Re-election
Sen. Brian Schatz and two local benefactors are co-hosting a Kailua fundraiser for the Hawaii congresswoman next month.
Scratch all the聽talk that Tulsi Gabbard might challenge Brian Schatz for his聽U.S. Senate seat in 2016.
Schatz, the senator from Hawaii, is co-hosting聽a fundraiser for the representative of Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District next month.
It’s scheduled for April 10 in Kailua at the beachfront Lanikai home of Elizabeth Grossman, who is also hosting聽the fundraiser.
Federal Election Commission that an Elizabeth Rice Grossman with a Kailua聽address has given generously to Gabbard, Schatz and other political candidates in recent years.
A third fundraiser co-host, Linda Wong, is also identified as a big contributor to Schatz, Gabbard and other candidates.

The fundraiser’s special guest is Rep. Joe Kennedy III, the Democrat from Massachusetts and grandson of Bobby Kennedy.
Suggested donation聽levels start at $500 and run to $2,700, according to , votetulsi.com, that was emailed to supporters this week.
Messages Saturday聽to Andy Winer, Schatz’s chief of staff and the top strategist聽behind Schatz’s 2014 election to the聽Senate, and to the Gabbard camp, were not immediately returned.
Gabbard, in her second two-year term, was unopposed in the 2014 Democratic primary and defeated her Republican and Libertarian opponents in a landslide in the general election.
The April fundraiser聽falls one day after Gabbard’s expected wedding to cinematographer Abraham Williams and two days before Gabbard’s 34th birthday.
