Last week, Civil Beat’s award-winning education reporter looked at three important K-12 school issues that could impact the way our keiki are educated for years to come. Alia Wong explored the debate over the constitutional amendment to allow public funds to be used for private preschool education, the lack of air conditioning in some of the state’s schools, and how changes to the kindergarten cut off age have prevented thousands of youngsters from starting school.
To explore these stories a little further, Wong joined Civil Beat political reporter and Pod Squad host Chad Blair and special guest Jim Shon of the Hawaii Educational Policy Center to decipher how these issues will affect students, parents, and the state’s education system.
