Civil Beat surveyed 1,055 registered voters statewide Sept. 11-14 using interactive voice response technology (touch-tone polling).

The margin of error for the polls on the races for Hawaii governor and the U.S. Senate, as well as for three constitutional amendment ballot questions, is 3 percent.

Civil Beat also surveyed 551 registered voters in the 1st Congressional District Sept. 11-14. The poll has a margin of error of 4.2 percent.

And Civil Beat surveyed 504 voters in the 2nd Congressional District Sept. 11-14. The poll has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.

In all the surveys, calls were made to land lines and cell phones. Cell phones were contacted in compliance with federal law.

Results were balanced for age, gender, ethnicity and phone type.
