Worried that rains have聽sent a plume of dirty water from the Ala Wai Canal out into coastal waters along Waikiki and Ala Moana Beach park?

There’s now an online tool,聽developed by University of Hawaii scientists and technologists, that allows you to track a projected version of such plumes of brown water.

The Ala Wai Turbidity Plume Model uses near real-time data to show the likely path of runoff on an online map, which can be accessed .

Storm water runoff can contain sewage, harmful micro-organisms and chemicals, according to a UH press release.
