Pritchett: The Dangers of Driving While Digital
The just-ended probably didn’t do much to convince people to avoid their phones while driving. It remains to be seen whether this week’s passage of , which deals with “mobile electronic devices,” will convince people to ignore their phones behind the wheel. Civil Beat columnist Chad Blair even wrote Confessions of a Cell Phone User While Driving, a plea for the Legislature to help people like him to help themselves. Political cartoonist John Pritchett, who doesn’t speak by phone with people when they are driving, harvested some gallows’ humor from the issue.
