Lawmakers in both the Hawaii Senate and House are pushing for legislation that would prohibit outsiders from fishing around 鈥淭he Forbidden Island鈥 of Niihau.
Kauai legislators, however, aren鈥檛 taking the bait.
聽鈥淚鈥檓 against it, I鈥檓 against it, I鈥檓 against it,鈥 said Rep. Dee Morikawa, D-Koloa-Niihau. 鈥淣obody should be shutting down those resources when it鈥檚 for everybody鈥檚 use.鈥澛
