Gov. Neil Abercrombie used his annual State of the State address on Tuesday to tout the accomplishments of his administration over the last few years. The governor is running for re-election this year but he urged lawmakers to set politics aside and focus on the good of the state. Observers were quick to point out that his speech was as close to a campaign stump speech as you can get. Political cartoonist John Pritchett couldn’t get out of his head, especially when you consider the governor’s bed of roses may have a couple of weeds he’ll need to get rid of.
