Americans have until Monday to sign up for healthcare coverage under the Affordable Care Act, more commonly called Obamacare. The enrollment website, healthcare.gov, was supposed to be fully functional by Oct. 1 but has been plagued by technical glitches. That prompted President Obama to extend the deadline to enroll for coverage that begins Jan. 1. The site appears to be working pretty well and recent news reports say enrollment is surging. But political cartoonist John Pritchett isn’t so sure the bandaid will stick.
