Pritchett: Tower of Power

The Hawaii Community Development Authority on Wednesday approved a new project in Kakaako that has neighbors protesting. The 46-story tower at 801 South St. would rise to 400 feet, taller than buildings currently allowed in most of the city. But Kakaako, which is a special planning area under state jurisdiction, has its own rules and the state agency is also considering a building that could soar to 700 feet high. Political cartoonist John Pritchett is wondering how that makes sense.
