Hawaii’s Department of Hawaiian Home Lands has published a draft of its land use plan for聽6,635聽acres on Oahu over the next 20 years.

The agency plans to award 3,400 homesteads to Native Hawaiians over the next two decades.

In addition to housing, the agency wants to use some land for agricultural, conservation, commercial and industrial purposes.

DHHL is responsible for using its land to benefit Native Hawaiians. The agency oversees 204,006 acres across six islands.
