Pritchett: Moving Day in Kahala

Japanese billionaire Genshiro Kawamoto, who owns dozens of properties along tony Kahala Avenue, has agreed to sell most of the pricey real estate to the venerable Hawaii company, Alexander & Baldwin. The announcement earlier this week thrilled many Kahala residents who didn’t like Kawamoto’s handling of the properties, including his yard art which includes dozens of sculptures and statues. Political cartoonist John Pritchett took the opportunity to comment on what the property sale likely means to the neighborhood.
