The Green Party of Hawaii has filed suit against Scott Nago, Hawaii’s chief elections officer, alleging that Election Day problems resulted in voter disenfranchisement.聽

Attorney Lance Collins lodged the suit on Friday on behalf of the Green Party and a group of voters from around the state. He’s holding a press conference this morning at 11 a.m.

On Election Day, 51 polling places ran out of paper ballots. The Hawaii Elections Commission grilled Nago about the problems last month and were told that the elections office had used the wrong formula to determine how many ballots would be needed. Additionally, some聽voters were given the wrong ballots.聽
