Some Oahu-based activists and community members are picking a fight with a multinational corporation and one of Hawaii鈥檚 largest private landowners over genetically modified organisms and pesticide use.
The Hawai鈥檌 GMO Justice Coalition is behind the effort, putting together a 43 minute documentary about the impacts pesticides sprayed on GMO test fields have on the local environment and surrounding communities.
While the film touches on the broader impacts of pesticide use on the islands, it specifically targets Monsanto and Kamehameha Schools. A goal of the film is to get Kamehameha Schools to end its land leases with Monsanto.
