Imperiled UH Research Center Wins $960K NASA Grant
Researchers at the UH Manoa’s Kewalo Marine Lab have won a four-year, $960,000 grant from NASA, according to .
The grant will fund studies into聽the evolution of increased cell-type complexity in 鈥渟imple鈥 marine animals.聽
This is the same marine lab 鈥 Pacific Biosciences Research Center 鈥 that has been targeted for closure by UH administrators.聽
Vice Chancellor Gary Ostrander, who has led efforts to close the center, was subject to vote of no confidence by the faculty senate last month. Faculty members postponed their vote for a later meeting.聽
