Editor’s Note: This is I Aloha Molokai’s response to a Fact Check published in Civil Beat on April 25, 2012.

Mahalo to Civil Beat for fact checking our last press release. We realize the Arizona Daily Sun article could be open to interpretation and we respect other points of view. That said, the fact that Arizona Public Service is not planning any new wind projects does seem to us to fit into a much bigger picture: All over the world communities are changing their minds about wind power.

But did the Arizona paper get its facts straight? Just to be sure, IAM contacted staff at Arizona Public Service. With their help we were able to view the 378-page 2012 Integrated Resource Plan, filed on March 30, 2012 with the Arizona Corporation Commission. After a preliminary review of this document it seems clear that this Arizona utility is not planning any new wind projects.
