Details are still forthcoming, but Kawaiahao Church sent out this press statement earlier this afternoon:
In response to a ruling in District Court, Kawaiahao Church Kahu Curt Kekuna said, 鈥淏ased on what we heard from the court, we are pleased with the court鈥檚 ruling. However, we will await the written ruling and confer with our legal counsel before deciding what our next steps might be.鈥
Preliminary word is that 1st Circuit Court Judge Karl Sakamoto has thrown out a lawsuit challenging the church鈥檚 moving of unmarked burial sites for construction of a multi-purpose room.
