Mayor Peter Carlisle has signed a proclamation declaring January 18 鈥淗ire Our Heroes Day,鈥 in support of a major job fair and a U.S. Chamber of Commerce initiative to help veterans and military spouses find employment.

鈥淰eterans are disciplined, project-focused and team players,鈥 Carlisle said. 鈥淭hey have the attitudes and skills that make them valuable employees.鈥

Hire Our Heroes will be the main focus of Job Quest, Hawaii鈥檚 oldest and largest job fair. Recruiters from over 125 local businesses, mainland organizations, military branches and government agencies will be accepting applications for available jobs on Wednesday, January 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
