CBS Sports, SI.com, ESPN and the Los Angeles Times’ sports blog have all picked up news of Norm Chow‘s impending appointment as the next head coach for UH Football.聽

Chow, 65, is a Honolulu native who began his coaching career at聽叠驰鲍听in 1973 and spent 26 seasons with聽the Cougars before stints as an offensive coordinator at聽N.C. State, USC,聽迟丑别听Tennessee Titans聽补苍诲听鲍颁尝础听as well as Utah.聽While at USC he won the 2002聽Broyles Award聽as the nation’s top assistant and played a major role in building the Trojans’ national championship- and Heisman-winning offenses.

Chow served as the Trojans’ offensive coordinator from 2001-04, during which time USC won two national titles and had a pair of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks in Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. He聽聽to become Kentucky’s head coach in 2002.聽


He left USC for the Titans job in 2005 and was replaced by Lane Kiffin, who has been the Trojans head coach for the last two seasons. Chow also served as offensive coordinator at UCLA from 2008-10 and spent last season in the same role at Utah.
