Two Warthog Piglets Survive At the Zoo (Pictures)

Two warthog babies born about six weeks ago at the Honolulu Zoo have survived some health problems and could be ready for the public soon.
The piglets — nicknamed “Bull’s Eye” and “No Name” by zoo staff — weren’t being taken care of by their mother and needed help from a veterinarian, including antibiotics for pneumonia. Two other siblings didn’t survive, but a new litter could be on its way soon.

Berg Wants Commercial Activity at Parks
City Council member Tom Berg is introducing a to allow commercial activity in some parks.
Specifically, the District 1 council member wants to allow food and other goods available for purchase in certain parks along the Waianae Coast.
“Nanakuli Neighborhood Board has requested that a pilot program be established to allow vendors to sell handcrafted, homemade, and food items at city parks in the area, such as Tracks Beach Park and Kahe Point Beach Park,” Berg wrote.
He says it would be part of a three-year pilot program to determine whether the commercial activity should be allowed to continue. The reso will be up for discussion in a at City Hall on Tuesday.
