The quake hit in the last 30 minutes of trading in Tokyo and sparked a selling spree.

The finished positively Friday, rising 59.79 points, or 0.5 percent.

The UK’s exchange fell slightly, down 16.62 points, or 0.28 percent. France’s dropped more, closing 35.31 points down.
