In January 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency ordered a cleanup at Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill. Civil Beat requested documents generated for the EPA pursuant to that order, and will be publishing them, raw and unedited, as soon as we receive them.

Waste Management reports it still needs about two weeks 鈥斅燼ssuming weather conditions allow 鈥斅爐o remove debris from a portion of damaged liner in Cell E6. Crews have encountered some delays due to rain, but Waste Management continues to meet all deadlines established in the federal government’s clean-up order. Recent rains have led to more stormwater accumulating in the sedimentation basin, which stalled some work there.
