The Honolulu Liquor commissioner-to-be said the darndest thing today.
Wesley Fong, told City Council members that he believes “nobody wants to intentionally break the law.”
He said this right after acknowledging there are problems checking IDs and hostess bars. He also knows that the commission has a slew of corruption charges against its employees. Just last month, a Liquor Commission worker was arrested for bribery.
Is it really possible that Fong believes stopping illegal activity is just a “matter of education,” as he told the City Council Budget Committee?
