Feb. 21: Waste Management Daily Progress Report
In January 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency ordered a cleanup at Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill. Civil Beat requested documents generated for the EPA pursuant to that order, and will be publishing them, raw and unedited, as soon as we receive them.
Waste Management reports it hit another repair milestone on Feb. 21: “The evaluation and repairs to the southwestern portion of the E6 liner system are now complete.”Waste Management reported the stormwater diversion channel was fully functional as of last week’s federal deadline, but work on the channel continues. After pumping hundreds of thousands of gallons of contaminated stormwater out of the landfill, workers are now placing silt and rock from the sedimentation basin into the landfill.
