Feb. 18: Waste Management Daily Progress Report
In January 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency ordered a cleanup at Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill. Civil Beat requested documents generated for the EPA pursuant to that order, and will be publishing them, raw and unedited, as soon as we receive them.
On Feb. 18, the contractor reconnected electricity and plumbing to the leachate pumping system in landfill Cell E6, and pumped out 56,700 gallons. Stormwater was also pumped from the sedimentation basin and taken to the water treatment facility.
