Feb. 17: Waste Management Daily Progress Report
In January 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency ordered a cleanup at Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill. Civil Beat requested documents generated for the EPA pursuant to that order, and will be publishing them, raw and unedited, as soon as we receive them.
On Feb. 17, workers continued to fix areas of the liner in Cell E6. But they stopped pumping water from that cell due to “declining volume.” The contractor pumped more than 30,000 of stormwater from the sedimentation basin for treatment and disposal.
