Memo to Hawaii’s media: Gov. Neil Abercrombie isn’t happy.

“The governor is not happy with what he has been reading,” press secretary Donalyn Dela Cruz told reporters Monday before Abercrombie arrived to brief them on his budget plans.

She offered no specifics. But we wondered whether this is the kind of news that would make him happy.

  • Retirees love the idea of their pensions being taxed.
  • State retirees would love to give up their Medicare Part B reimbursements.
  • Soda drinkers think their lives would be sweeter if they could pay more for their sugary drinks.
