Civil Beat posted a story Thursday night on plans by a newly formed to buy .

Not long after, there was a testy e-mail exchange between Kuokoa CEO Roald Marth and Pono Shim, president and CEO of Enterprise Honolulu.

In the exchange, Marth disputed that he offered Shim one million shares valued at “$1000 per share” to join Kuokoa’s board of directors. Shim responds, saying Marth had “pissed off a real small time Hawaiian” and suggests that his kupuna had told him that Marth wasn’t good for Hawaii.

Copied in the e-mail chat are Kuokoa Chairman Richard Ha, Enterprise Honolulu Managing Director Mark McGuffie, “The Blue Economy” (zero emissions) author Gunter Pauli, electric car enthusiast Aaron Landry and Civil Beat reporter-Host Nanea Kalani.

Here’s a look at the exchange, though it appears incomplete. Reached by phone, Shim declined to elaborate. A call to Marth was not immediately returned.

Dear Pono….

You hit us pretty hard in the Civil Beat article tonight….I am not sure how 20 cents per kWh electricity hurts the folks who live in Hawaii….Gunter Pauli is one of our board members and advises us on multiple cash flows….we intend to sell our electricity at cost and make our profits on exporting energy in the form of CleanTech Products…..I hope you will give us a fair look…..aloha and happy new year…

Well, you know I did approach you to be on our board as I was so impressed with you at the conference…..I was so excited to talk to you…..your speeches and passion amazed me…they still do…….but I never offered you $1000 per share……how ridiculous…..so you are twisting my words….I actually like debating it is how our great democracy functions best….but I hope we can stick to the facts…good night…Aloha Ro

Your statement defies logic….how would I have such a crystal ball….are you really saying that I can predict the value of a stock 10 years or more into the future?…..well, I wish I had this skill but I don’t….Lol

Roald I don’t trust you. And will tell the truth of everything you shared on September 22nd and who was on your list. You had the gall to tell me “if I really care about Hawaii, I would do this” another slick talking angle to push an initiative as my savior and the people of Hawaii. I don’t think so. Congratulations, you just pissed off a real small time Hawaiian who is copying this email to alot of locals.

I was told that Gunter advised you against this. If this is what Gunter is supporting you know how I feel about that too.  Kekunuialeimoku is the name of my great, great, great, great, great grandfather. He was appointed by his older brother the King Kalaniopuu to be the Hanai father of Kamehameha. Most people don’t have any idea about this because if you didn’t know you didn’t need to know. If I care about Hawaii doesn’t come from you it comes from my heritage.

Bill Gates, Pierre, and everyone else that you mentioned you need our help to give you credibility to leverage your initiative will have to deal with a very unassuming Hawaiian with tremendous respect in this community because he isn’t a mercenary.

On September 30 a friend inquired about the possibility of a hostile takeover because she was afraid that people of Hawaii would get hurt. She was informed by Richard Ha. I told her I was aware of it and was offered to be a founding Board Member, she said “so Robbie knows”. I said “no”.

She said “What, why not”
“Because he doesn’t need to know, this isn’t going to happen unless they are willing to do one thing”
“What is that?”
“Take me out, this isn’t going to happen because my kupuna already told me this guy is no good and it will hurt the people of Hawaii, so I’m willing to die for it”

I received a call from the Star Advertiser this morning I would imagine they are going to ask me questions too.  I will tell the truth again and include this email for their publishing.  If Ted Peck was brilliant enough to believe that whatever price you offered him was not going to be on the backs of the people of Hawaii, I thank you.
