The most recent federal election fundraising reports show Djou raised more than Hanabusa in September, with Djou maintaining his lead. But Hanabusa appeared positioned to make the bigger final push, having started October with more cash on hand.

Those additions bring Djou’s total fundraising to $2.08 million as of Sept. 30, including $123,938 cash on hand at the start of the election. Of that amount, $1.6 million has come from individual contributions, and $447,955 from political committees.
Djou spent $362,286 during the one-month period, and $1.8 million for the election to date. As of Sept. 30, he had $395,003 cash on hand.

Colleen Hanabusa
In the same one-month period, Hanabusa . She has raised $2.04 million to date through Sept. 30 — impressive since since started with $5,808 cash on hand.
The Hanabusa campaign spent $192,463 between Aug. 30 to Sept. 30, and $1.5 million for the election to date. Most of her contributions have come from individual donors — $1.46 million — with the rest coming from political committees. As of Sept. 30, she had $547,486 cash on hand.

Mazie Hirono
In the race for the 2nd Congressional District, incumbent Democrat Mazie Hirono brought in $100,791 in contributions from Aug. 30 to Sept. 30. As of Sept. 30, she had raised $918,706.
Hirono’s expenses for the reporting period totaled $459,596, and $876,871 for the election cycle. As of Sept. 30, she had $368,189 cash on hand.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Hirono’s Republican challenger John Willoughby had not filed a report for the Aug. 30-Sept. 30 period.
Through Aug. 29, Willoughby had raised $16,081 and spent $14,158.

Incumbent U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye brought in contributions totaling $69,979 between Aug. 30 and Sept. 30. That brings his fundraising total to date to $3.6 million.
Inouye, who is running for his ninth consecutive term, spent $146,490 during the latest reporting period, and $2.86 million to date. As of Sept. 30, he had $1.74 million cash on hand.
