The primary races are all but over.

But before the election Saturday, we thought it would be worth giving the leading candidates for governor and mayor “the last word,” a chance to speak directly to readers to tell them why they would be the best person for the job.

So today we end the primary season with seven articles by the candidates. No, we didn’t fact check them, as much as we might have liked to. We’ll wait till the victory speeches to do that again. In the meantime, I hope you’ll take the time to read what the candidates have to say, and perhaps to get up-to-speed on the political scene with our guide to the election.
