We promised that Civil Beat would cover campaign fundraisers and, as part of that commitment, we are embarking on a new weekly feature in which we track events held by the three leading gubernatorial candidates. Since July 20, none of the candidates have held any events.
There are, however, two fundraisers planned for the future. Both will be held for Mufi Hannemann:
-
Date: , 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Hilo Yacht Club
Person in charge of fundraiser: Jim Wilson, a campaign volunteer, retiree, and the former publisher of the Hawaii Tribune-Herald. “Mufi Hannemann, I’ve know him for several years,” Wilson told Civil Beat. “He used to live here on the Big Island. He’s a good friend, and I want to help him out. I think he’d made a great governor.”
Price or suggested contribution per person: $500 -
Date: , 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Seagull School Early Education Center at Ko Olina
Person in charge of fundraiser: Gregg N. Hirata
Price or suggested contribution per person: $25
Former Congressman Neil Abercrombie and Lt. Gov. James “Duke” Aiona have not notified the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission of any future fundraisers.
DISCUSSION: Come talk about campaign fundraisers in the Hawaii Governor’s Race conversation.
