This Friday — Hawaii’s 16th Furlough Friday — a group of students in the at will team up with to provide a free educational alternative for public high school students who would otherwise be out of school.

It will be the fifth hands-on workshop the Chaminade students have hosted in partnership with business and community leaders to keep high school students learning on school furlough days. Their focus seems to be on science, technology and innovation-related subjects. Check out of one workshop with and . It’s good to see people seeking constructive alternatives during a bad financial time for the school system.
