Legislators pulled a late night yesterday to pass this year’s State Budget, though they still need to figure out today where to get the money to back up their plan. Now they’re looking at raiding the counties’ share of the Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT). They’re also looking at using special funds to pay for operating expenses.
Legislators decided on a budget of $10.2 billion for the fiscal year. The upshot? They managed to trim last year’s budget of $10.8 billion by $600 million.
